On 25 September 2014 DAcoB and the Permanent Representation of Denmark to the European Union arranged a debate on "EU as leverage for growth in Denmark".

Sofie Carsten Nielsen, Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science joined the debate together with Danish members of the European Parliament and representatives from Danish regions and universities.

The debate focused on how the EU can be used as leverage for regional growth and employment, how research and innovation based growth is important for the competitiveness in Denmark, and how coordination on the regional, national and European level can optimize the payoff from the opportunities in the EU and the level of EU funding in Denmark.
